I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to be part of the rapid program. I had a thoroughly inspiring and overwhelming time in Sydney last weekend. It is always exciting to learn you have much more to learn and can always improve and grow.

I wanted to tell you how absolutely mind blowing the weekend was! The course was truly inspirational, lots of very practical hands on information to be directly applied to my business.

Both presenters Susan and Ken really showed us some incredible techniques to improve on our current processes and also the introduction to buying and budgeting that I had never seen before.

In fact over the last three days since the course I have spent the entire time putting together action plans and starting to implement what techniques I have learned.

Well...so much has happened since the completion of the Rapid retail course. As a whole it really encouraged me to think about the direction of my business.

1. I appreciate the course was call Rapid Retail but one of the biggest things to come out of the course was I need to concentrate my resources towards the wholesale side of my business. I have since closed my Melbourne retail store which was in operation for 1 year. The distance proved to be a major obstacle and I didn't have the operational structures in place to ensure things ran smoothly in my absence. I learnt that when it comes to retail, you get what you INSPECT not what you expect.
2. The program gave me a great all round understanding of what is involved in running a successful retail business and with the resources I have, it came to the conclusion that my efforts at this stage of the game would be better served concentrating on my wholesale business.
3. The financial component of the course further convinced me of the need to invest in a Wholesale/Retail POS system which I have since implemented. The benefits have been massive and immediate. I have set up product categories and family tree's which are a now part of my open to buy for each season.
4. I now use a visual merchandiser for Front window, product positioning and store layout. I have increased the amount of lighting in the front window and changed all the florescent lighting to tri phosphorous globes which has made such a massive visual difference that customers have commented on.
5. I now have regular meetings with all retail staff once a fortnight and have booked for all staff to attend a sales workshop with Sue in October.

I couldn't recommend the Rapid Course highly enough to anyone that has a retail business whether just starting out or experienced. All the presenters came with a wealth of knowledge and delivered content with commitment and energy. Through the use of my mentor much of the material covered was then suitably tailored to my specific business.
