The ARA is conducting FREE information seminars with the support of the Australian Government to educate employers, employees and community groups on the new Fair Work legislation.

These sessions will be conducted at various locations across the country and are open to anyone who is interested regardless of whether you’re an ARA member. If you are in a remote region and/or you are unable to attend one of the seminars you can register for a webinar online.

A. Overview of Fair Work Australia, Fair Work Ombudsman and Fair Work Act 2009

This seminar provides a general overview of the changes to workplace relations legislation under the Fair Work Act and how these laws will impact your business.

  • The new 10 National Employment Standards (NES)
  • Modern Awards
  • Unfair Dismissals and the Fair Dismissal Code for small Business,
  • Collective bargaining

B. New Unfair Dismissal Laws and Collective Bargaining

This seminar provides detailed information about the new unfair dismissal laws including the Small Business Fair Dismissal Code which is now in place. Attendees will gain an overview of Fair Work Australia’s processes, remedies for unfair dismissal, and rights and responsibilities under the Fair Work Act 2009. This seminar will also outline the new framework for collective bargaining particularly at the enterprise level.
