Centrelink Jobs Expo

Centrelink is holding a series of Jobs Expos across Australia as part of the Australian Government’s Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan.  The Centrelink Jobs Expos support the 'Keep Australia Working' initiative, an Australia wide federal government strategy supporting Australian jobs and industry.  

The main objectives of this exciting event are to promote information about real jobs, job and career pathways, and training opportunities.  

The Jobs Expo is intended to provide a vehicle for employers, industry groups, recruitment and training providers, and other key stakeholders, to participate in a local community event that provides people with access to job vacancies, information about options that enhance employability, training opportunities, as well as information about other related local support services.

This will be a great opportunity for employers to promote and effectively fill job vacancies for all job types – a real ‘Jobs Marketplace’.

The event will be extensively publicised, and all local job seekers will be issued with a personal invitation to attend.

The event will also be promoted heavily through local media.

To date Centrelink has coordinated 9 Jobs Expos around Australia with over 30,000 Job Seekers and well over 500 Exhibitors attending.

The Jobs Expos scheduled is as follows:

• NSW - Lismore, 19/03/10 - Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre
• NSW - Illawarra, 23/03/10 - Win Entertainment Centre
• NSW - Central Coast, 30/03/10 - Mingara
• VIC - Dandenong, 15/04/10 - Dandenong Market
• WA - Rockingham 22/04/10 - Mike Barnett Sports Complex
• NSW - Port Macquarie 29/04/10 - Port Macquarie Sports Stadium
• VIC - Ballarat, 06/05/10 Wendouree Sports & Event Centre
• VIC - Shepparton, 14/05/10 - Shepparton Sports Stadium
• QLD - Bundaberg, 19/05/10 - Bundaberg Civic Centre
• QLD - Ipswich, 21/05/10 - Ipswich Showgrounds
• QLD - Gympie, 28/05/10 - The Pavilion Gympie Showgrounds
• QLD - Sunshine Coast, 04/06/10 - Lake Kawana Centre
• NSW - Penrith, 10/06/10 - Panthers Centre

As an Exhibitor you’ll also be provided with free exhibition facilities, including signage, and a light lunch.  

The Jobs Expo supports the work being led by Lindsay Fox and Bill Kelty to 'Keep Australia Working'.
