Melbourne Design Awards

In association with the Design Institute of Australia, the Melbourne Design Awards is a new awards program that honours Melbourne’s best design across more than fifty categories.

The Melbourne Design Awards are the only design awards recognising such a broad range of design categories. They are cross-disciplinary and honour all aspects of the design process. In addition, the public will be able to vote for finalists after industry panels have reviewed entries.

Melbourne is the inaugural city for the program’s parent association, the City Design Awards, which has plans for Design Awards in Paris, New York, Stockholm, Helsinki and Taipei.

The Melbourne Design Awards features a wide range of categories covering excellence across fields including products and furnishings, architecture, interiors, landscape design, advertising graphic design, fashion, photography and digital media.

Entries are open now to any designer, design company, commissioner of design or student, provided they are active in the Melbourne market. They can be submitted online at www.melbournedesignawards.com.au.

By selecting ‘ARA’ under Industry Association/Group when registering, Australian Retail Association members will receive 10% off their entry fees.

All entries will be viewable and once finalists are chosen, they can be voted on by the public. You can follow the Awards as they progress on Facebook.

Important Dates
• Entries close: Sunday, 28th November 2010
• Voting commences: Wednesday, 1st December 2010
• Voting concludes: Sunday, 13th February 2011
