Work Safe Week

WorkSafe Victoria’s annual Work Safe Week is being held from 26-30 October and is the perfect opportunity for Victorian workers, employers and businesses to get up-to-date with the latest information on health and safety in the workplace.

This year features a comprehensive program of over 100 informative and educational seminars, events and interactive workshops across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

The activities cover a range of safety issues, industries, level of knowledge and business size and aside from a few specialist events all Work Safe Week activities are free.

Topics include manual handling, health and wellbeing, new national OHS laws, work related stress, bullying, helping injured people return to work as well as general OHS topics relevant to all employers.

A highlight of the Week is the prestigious 21st Annual WorkSafe Victoria Awards on Thursday 29 October at Crown Palladium and all members of the community are invited to attend.

The Awards recognise Victoria’s shining stars of workplace safety, people who have used their ideas, innovations and initiative to make Victorian workers safer.

Shane Jacobson will host the night, which features a showcase of cutting edge safety innovations, the presentation of Awards, a five course dinner and live music.
