Experience

Brian is an experienced retailer with over 30 years of industry experience, covering all aspects of running a successful retail business from planning to implementation. He has acquired this experience as founder and owner of a chain women’s clothing stores and working for one of Australia’s leading retail groups. In addition to his retail knowledge, Brian has a strong understanding of manufacturing from the initial sourcing to offshore production. His experience is now being used in a consulting capacity where Brian has been reviewing and developing retail business processes in financial, buying controls, stock management, marketing and people management. Having managed a large workforce, Brian understand s the importance of communicating the vision and building a culture based on respect and passion.

As a Specialist Retail Consultant, Brian works with a variety of clients from small retailers to major shopping centres. His enthusiasm for retail and clear thinking has assisted businesses in strategic planning, stock management, store layout and people management.  Brian has a real passion for retail and enjoys sharing his skills and knowledge to assist retailers in building a successful and profitable business.

As a Specialist Retail Trainer, Brian enjoys the experience of working with people, relating his retail experiences and seeing people develop a passion and greater understanding of what is required to become a successful retailer. Brian’s enthusiasm for retail is obvious and this comes through with his training.

Major Assignments

  • Skills For Growth – Brian has been involved with the SFG program since its launch in July 2009. His role is to provide an on-site Business Strategic Diagnostic Assessment. The process looks at the business today, its plans for the future and the skills required to deliver the plan.  The outcome provides a comprehensive training plan for the business that recommends staff into accredited training programs to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Knox City Shopping Centre Consulting– Brian is employed on a regular basis to work with a variety of retailers. His all round expertise assists retailers to work through issues affecting their business. His skill at looking from the outside with a fresh set of eyes has provided retailers with new ideas, improved skills and how to implement change.
