IR for the HR Practitioner

Overview

This program is tailored to the HR Practitioner who wants to build the IR knowledge to resolve more complex IR issues. Specifically, participants we learn:

  • The practical advantages/disadvantages of various types of employment contracts such as ITEAs, Collective Agreements, common law contracts, and Enterprise Agreements and Individual Flexibility Agreements under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth)
  • How to work through complex performance management and terminations; and
  • The upcoming changes to the IR landscape and what to be aware of.

This program also includes case studies based on real life situations such as performance managing employees who have submitted complaints. Participants will also be provided an opportunity to work through these issues and propose possible solutions.

Target Audience

HR Practitioners and professionals with HR responsibilities seeking to update and build their IR skills and knowledge.

Learning Outcomes

This seminar will assist participants to:

  • Identify different methods of managing employee performance in consideration of the law surrounding termination of employment.
  • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of entering into statutory workplace agreements and/or common law contracts of employment.
  • Understand employer obligations under upcoming IR changes.
