To provide participants with an understanding of OHS legislative requirements and to understand the mechanics of the human body, so that work can be performed in a suitable posture and manual handling tasks can be eliminated or performed safely.

Employees involved in performing manual handling tasks and/or who perform computer/keyboard work activities.
OHS legislation generally requires employers to identify hazards and assess the risks associated with manual handling and ergonomics in their workplace. Subsequent to this process, there is a requirement to implement, monitor and review risk control measures.
An employer has a duty where it is not reasonably practicable to eliminate a risk from manual handling to ensure that the persons carrying out the activity are trained in manual handling techniques and team lifting procedures appropriate to the activity.
