Course Description

This course aims to familiarize participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to apply the principles of workplace OHS consultation as an integral part of an effective OH&S Management system. This four day accredited course will set your Safety Committee members and OH&S Representatives on the right path - one which is productive and which in the long run will save your Organisation time and money.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for OHS Committee members and OHS Representatives. It meets all the requirements for OHS consultation training as outlined in clause 31 of the NSW OHS Regulation 2001.

Regulatory Requirements

It is a mandatory course for OHS committee members and OHS representatives.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, participants will be able to:

• Explain the requirements for effective management of OHS and the importance of OHS consultation.
• Detail the requirements for OHS consultation as named in OHS law.
• Outline effective communication techniques and describe how effective communication techniques are essential in the consultative process.
• Detail the requirements for effective OHS management systems, their development, implementation, audit and review.
• Demonstrate practical application of OHS risk management through a work place based activity.
• Explain the need for continuous improvement in OHS through consultation and provide the means for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of this process.
