Course Description

This 4 hour program provides a step by step guide to key parts of the Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislation. It also covers the principles and practice of claims and managing the return to work process.

Who Should Attend?

The course is a comprehensive one, suitable both for those new to workers compensation and those wanting to develop more effective strategies and avoid common (and expensive) pitfalls for employers.

Line Managers and supervisors have a crucial role to play in the effective management of rehabilitation and return to work. This half day course is designed to assist them to effectively contribute to this process.

On completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and explain the legal requirements for rehabilitation and return to work.
  • Understand the financial benefits of timely and sustainable return to work.
  • Understand the interacting roles of the return to work coordinator and the supervisor in identifying suitable duties in the workplace.
  • Understand the role of the supervisor in ensuring compliance with return to work plans.
  • Identify strategies to enhance outcomes of the return to work process.
