Career Advice Australia

Overview

Many industries are facing a severe skills shortage. In an endeavour to address this critical issue within the retail industry the Australian Retailers Association (ARA) is participating in the Career Advice Australia (CAA) initiative.

This initiative is part of the Australian Governments ongoing commitment to enhance ways that industry can be involved in improving the employment prospects, career pathways and transition for young people, aged 13 to 19 years.

Young people need quality career information from industry experts and qualified career development practitioners. The CAA is a structured network of National Industry Career Specialists (NICS) who provide Industry Sector specific career information with a focus on skills needs and labour markets.

NICS work with Regional Industry Career Advisers (RICAs), to assist Local Community Partnerships to ensure that, through schools, young people have greater access to current career information.
