ARA Council of Management
The Australian Retailers Association (ARA) has a proud history of improving the business standards of the Retail Trade Industry and its various sectors.
The ARA was established in 1903. First known as the Master Retailers Association New South Wales, throughout the intervening decades the association has undergone many transformations.
Fast track to 1991, the association became the Retail Council of Australia. Less than a decade later, in 1998, the State chapters of the Retail Council of Australia amalgamated into the Australian Retailers Association.
The Association was approved as a registered organisation in 2004 under the Workplace Relations Act. State divisions were abolished and the Australian Retailers Association truly become a national body for the Retail Industry's employers.
Throughout its long history, the ARA has been overseen by a voluntary committee of management known as the ARA Council of Management.
The ARA Council of Management supports several important functions including the governance, leadership, and compliance responsibilities of the Association.
Following the RO Act (s 230 (1) (d),r147) please find below the ARA’s Annual Return.
