SUMMARY:ARC People and Culture Breakfast 2026
DESCRIPTION:ARC’s People & Culture Breakfast in Melbourne brings together retail leaders to explore how businesses can move beyond diversity\, equity and inclusion (DEI) commitments to create genuinely inclusive workplaces where people feel valued\, supported and empowered to thrive. \nWith diverse and dispersed workforces across stores\, distribution centres and support offices\, creating a genuine sense of belonging requires more than policies and initiatives. It calls for inclusive leadership\, meaningful employee engagement and workplace cultures where people feel safe\, supported and able to progress. \nThis breakfast will explore how retailers can embed belonging into the everyday employee experience\, strengthen workplace culture and measure the impact of their efforts.

SUMMARY:ARC Retail Institute x QUT Workshop
DESCRIPTION:ARC Retail Institute and Queensland University of Technology invite you to attend a free three-hour workshop in Brisbane\, now rescheduled to February 2027.  \nWe are piloting new training to assist store managers to better support staff experiencing mental health challenges.  \nThe new workshop date will be announced shortly. Register your interest to receive updates and be among the first to know when the new date is confirmed. \nWhat the workshop covers \nThe training is built on QUT’s CARE framework. Four sessions\, each one practical. \n\nConcern. Why supporting staff mental health now sits at the centre of a retailer’s duty of care\, and what that looks like on the shop floor.\nAwareness. How mental health affects attendance\, engagement\, service quality and team performance\, and how managers can recognise the early signals.\nResponsibility. Who owns what\, across the organisation\, the regional manager\, the store manager and employees\, including what staff are responsible for in their own support.\nEngagement. Access to tools and resources your teams can use to document\, monitor and improve your organisation’s response.\n\nWho to nominate \nIdeally\, each participating organisation should bring at least three people: \n\nA HR manager (or a diversity and inclusion manager)\nA regional or area manager\nA store manager\n\nTeams will work through the material together\, completing hands-on activities that will provide practical guidance on how to address mental health challenges in the workplace\, before they escalate and impact wellbeing or performance. \nIndividuals are also warmly encouraged to register\, if it’s not possible to attend as a team. There will be ample opportunities to collaborate with other participants throughout the workshop. \nWhat we ask in return \nThere is no cost to attend. In exchange\, we ask your staff for honest feedback on the material. That feedback will help shape the final program before wider release. \nWe would be thrilled to have your involvement in this workshop.
