A leading force in the Australian Retail Industry for over 40 years, Paul’s corporate roles have included Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of former ASX listed department store, David Jones Limited as well as senior leadership roles at Target Australia and Officeworks Superstores.

Lindsay Carroll

Interim CEO and Legal Practice Director at the National Retail Association

About Lindsay

As the Interim CEO and Legal Practice Director at the National Retail Association, Lindsay Carroll oversees one of the largest in-house team of workplace relations advisors and lawyers orientated to the retail and quick services industries.

Lindsay is a leading workplace relations specialist and regularly provides advice on the full spectrum of workplace relations and work health and safety in Australia. 

Peter Price AM

Director of Crime Stoppers Australia and CEO in NSW

About Peter

Peter has worked in Crime Stoppers for 25 years.

He served as Vice President of Crime Stoppers International (located in The Hague) for 14 years and played a significant role in the relationship with INTERPOL in running global campaigns, mostly around fugitive apprehension, online child sexual abuse and environmental crime.

He was the Deputy Chairman of the Australian Government’s “Classification Review Board”, appointed by the Governor General, for 7 years.

And a Director of the Internet Industry Association from 2011 to 2014.

He was invited to the White House to engaged in strategic discussions on cyber security.

He has spoken at the United Nations and represented Australia at many international Policing / INTERPOL conferences around the world.

Peter has a diverse background. Born in the UK, schooled in South Africa and the USA.

He served in the South African armed forces. Attended university in South Africa and studied both Law and Advertising.

His experiences as a victim of multiple crimes in South Africa helped steer him in the direction of violence prevention and law enforcement advocacy.

Those experiences have taken him on a life path which has positively impacted millions of people around the globe.


Mr. Price has twice been awarded an order of Australia: OAM in 2009 and an AM in 2017

Gerard Dwyer

 SDA National Secretary-Treasurer

About Gerard

Gerard Dwyer is the National Secretary-Treasurer of the Shop, Distributive & Allied Employees’ Association. Gerard has been the Secretary-Treasurer of the SDA-NSW Branch (2005-2014), National President of the Union (2008-2014) and SDA National Secretary since 2014.

The SDA is one of Australia’s largest trade unions and represents employees working in retail, on-line retail, warehousing and fast food.

Gerard is currently Senior Vice President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), a member of the ACTU Executive, a member of the National Executive of the Australian Labor Party, and elected World President of UNI Global Union in August 2023. Gerard grew up in regional NSW and moved to Sydney at the age of 18 to pursue tertiary studies.

He has a Bachelor of Education (History and English, 1989), a Masters of Business in Employment Relations (UTS, 2002) and is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Gerard’s working life has seen him employed as a shop assistant, classroom teacher, social worker and as a

Trade Union Official for over 30 years.

Amy Lynes is a Senior Workplace Relations Consultant with the National Retail Association. Amy has spent over decade leading Human Resources teams and managing complex business projects.

Amy’s broad range of expertise spans the entire people experience; from recruitment to learning and development; strategic planning to industrial relations; employee engagement to work health and safety.

Toby Evans

Head of Economic Crime at the Australian Payments Network

About Toby

Toby Evans is the Head of Economic Crime at the Australian Payments Network (AusPayNet), overseeing all areas of economic crime related to payments, including fraud, scams, money laundering, and cyber and child exploitation.

Before AusPayNet, Toby was a Director at the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, a Crime and Corruption Commission investigator, and a Detective with the NSW Police Force. Toby holds various academic and industry qualifications in the investigations, leadership and the economic crime space.

Cameron Smith

Safety and Wellbeing Leader

About Cameron

Cameron Smith is a Safety and Wellbeing Leader, with an Occupational Therapy background, who has worked across a number of industries including telecommunications, finance, health, and retail.

Cam is currently leading the Safety & Wellbeing team at 7-Eleven and the product owner of the People Risk squad. Cam has a passion for developing people and building teams to improve business performance.

Cam has a record of delivering initiatives and programs tailored to suit the specific requirements of the business.
