Chris Rodwell

Chris Rodwell
Chris Rodwell is CEO of the Australian Retail Council (ARC) – the amalgamated entity which will combine the strengths of leading retail peak bodies the Australian Retailers Association (ARA) and National Retail Association (NRA).
He is determined to elevate the critical contribution the $444 billion retail sector makes to the Australian economy and communities across the nation.
A seasoned CEO and Board Director with experience working across Australia and internationally, Chris was previously the outgoing CEO of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Western Australia (CCIWA).
During his seven-year tenure at CCIWA, Chris secured several major policy outcomes, including landmark reform of Australia’s system for GST distribution, improving environment regulation and employment support for people with disabilities. Chris also led CCIWA in playing a fundamental role in supporting business and workplaces through the pandemic.
Prior to this role, Chris spent an extended period abroad developing Australia’s international trade and investment footprint for both the Australian and Queensland Governments, supporting business across all sectors of the economy.
His work in international business spans Australasia, North America, Latin America, and Europe. Chris will be located in Sydney and has lived and worked across many parts of the nation.
He is married to Katie and together they have four children. He is also a passionate advocate for people with disabilities through D-Dads.
Fleur Brown
Chief Industry Engagement & Marketing Officer
Fleur Brown
Fleur leads the Industry Affairs portfolio for ARC which encompasses policy and advocacy, media, marketing, events and partnerships. Fleur has worked as an executive leader in government, media, marketing industries and prior to joining the ARA ran the award-winning Launch Group agency which was responsible government and investor relations, advocacy and media management for many leading Australian brands and public entities.
With a rich background in technology and innovation, she is a former Director of TechSydney, a founding team member of StartupAUS (now Tech Council Australia) a founding director of TEDxSydney and founder and producer the Nine Network’s Entrepreneurs TV show. Fleur is author of the business book The Business of Being You.
Nathalie Rosette-Barber

Nathalie Rosette-Barber
An experienced retail professional, Nathalie has strong operations and management expertise and deep experience as a change agent within retail environments. She is a highly collaborative and results orientated leader with a finance, compliance and commercial background and strong strategic skills.
Her previous roles have included more than 14 years with David Jones in roles including: Head of Strategy Delivery, General Manager Change Management, and Project Delivery; General Manager – Stores Planning; Administration where she has focused on operations performance and planning and working on large scale transformation programs.
Glenn Fahey

Glenn Fahey
Glenn Fahey is the Chief Policy Officer and Chief Economist at the Australian Retail Council, where he leads policy and economic analysis.
Prior to joining the Australian Retail Council, Glenn held senior policy leadership roles in Australia’s think-tank sector, as well as holding research and policy positions at the Australian Treasury, Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the Institute for Public Policy and Governance.
Glenn is a regular contributor to public debate through media commentary, opinion writing and stakeholder engagement, and is known for translating research into practical policy solutions.
He holds qualifications in economics and public policy and maintains active interests in applied research, governance and institutional reform.
Lindsay Carroll

Lindsay Carroll
As the Chief Legal & Industrial Relations Officer at Australian Retail Council, Lindsay (she/her) oversees one of the largest in-house team of workplace relations advisors and lawyers orientated to the retail and quick services industries. Lindsay is a leading workplace relations specialist and regularly provides advice on the full spectrum of workplace relations and work health and safety in Australia.
Compliance with workplace laws can be challenging but with an unwavering focus on delivering practical support to NRA’s members and clients, Lindsay’s team consistently achieves solid outcomes for the retail industry. Lindsay is also an experienced work health and safety lawyer with experience in work health and safety management system review, incident response and management and in defending criminal prosecutions arising from safety incidents.
Lindsay started her legal career with global law firm, Norton Rose Fulbright and prior to joining the NRA, was a trusted advisor to the mining, oil and gas, and construction sectors in an employer association to the resources industry.

Nicole Sheffield
Nicole was appointed Managing Director, Wesfarmers OneDigital in November 2021, leading the Group’s cross-divisional data and digital strategy and implementation. This includes the OnePass membership program, the Group shared data asset, and from July 2022, the Catch marketplace.
Antony Moore
Chief Channel Officer, The Lottery Corporation
Anthony Moore
Prior to The Lottery Corporation, Antony was previously the General Manager of Lotteries Retail at Tabcorp. He joined Tatts Group in 2011 as the Head of Retail, responsible for optimising the operational and strategic performance of the Lotteries’ retail distribution network.
Antony has more than 25 years of experience in senior retail operations, including roles with Retail Adventures, Rebel Group, Coles Liquor, Coles Supermarkets, and Big W. He is an FCA-certified Franchise Executive, is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was named in Franchise Executives Top 30 list in 2021.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics and Accounting).
Alice Barbery

Alice Barbery
Alice Barbery has spent the past 15 years with Universal Store in various roles and took the helm as CEO in 2017. Since that time, she has a management buyout in 2018 from the original family start-up and in November of 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, lead the way to a successful ASX float. Universal Store has continued to go from strength to strength and currently operates 67 stores including online.

Sharon Beaumont
Sharon joined 7-Eleven in 2017 and leads the people function, which includes overseeing strategies related to capability, culture, reputation, and people’s experience. Sharon is a values-led leader with a passion for strategy, people, and performance. She has executive & board experience overseeing business culture, risk and performance across multiple industries and business models.
Sharon is member of the Australian Retail Council (ARC) Board, and she holds a Company Directors Diploma (AICD), Master of Business Administration (Swinburne University of Technology), a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Curtin University) and Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy (University of South Australia).

Krista Diez-Simson has over 15 years experience in retail, with a passion for small to medium sized, privately owned and founder-led businesses. Her retail experience includes fashion, food and wine through to her current role at leading plus-size women’s fashion retailer, Taking Shape. For the past six years, Krista has combined her love of finance with operations holding dual CFO/COO roles.

Drew is the Chairman of the Forty Winks Group and has operated a Forty Winks franchise for the past 15 years. Drew has an intimate knowledge of franchising and is a skilled director with extensive experience in governance, strategy and risk mitigation. Drew also has experience in the hotel and resort industry with several multinational brands.

Anthony’s retail and business career kicked off in 1989 as a wet behind-the-ears 22-year-old fresh out of an apprenticeship with BHP. Today Anthony’s business encompasses fifteen retail surf, skate, and lifestyle stores across three unique retail banners in regional NSW and Tasmania, employing over 150 people.
Serving the surfing community of the NSW Mid-North Coast, “Saltwater Wine” was founded in 1975 by local surfboard shaper Bob Brown. Similarly for the Tasmanian surf community, “Red Herring” was founded in 1971 by surfer Bill Thwaites while Wilson and his team developed the Stormriders brand for regional NSW in 2010.
Headquartered in Port Macquarie NSW, each retail banner is deeply ingrained locally. Anthony is passionate about business being a vehicle for good within the community and environment.

Tim Schaafsma
Tim is the Global CEO of Coco Republic, Australia’s leading luxury furniture and lifestyle retail brand. With a 40-year heritage weaving together experiential retail showrooms with interior design excellence, Coco Republic has presence in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Until December 2024, Tim was the Chairperson of the National Retail Association, a peak body for the Australian retail industry.
Tim was a member of the NRA Board since 2015. Before his time at Coco Republic, Tim had over 20 years’ experience in household goods and discretionary retail businesses, including as Managing Director of Freedom Furniture and Chief Operating Officer of Greenlit Brands (a $2.5bn vertically integrated household goods conglomerate). Tim started his career as a lawyer.
