In the wake of South-east Queensland being hit again by severe thunderstorms and flash floods, the Federal Government has announced an additional $20 million in disaster relief, with relief grants for affected farmers, small businesses and not-for-profits. This follows the devastating impact of the rainfall in the wake of Cyclone Jasper, which was already subject to relief measures.
Mr Albanese said affected farmers would be eligible for $75,000 grants and small businesses and not-for-profits for $50,000 grants to help them with clean-up and recovery.
In addition to the Government’s most recent funding announcement, eligible businesses will be able to access the following support:
Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA)
The DRA provides up to 13 weeks of federal income support to assist eligible employees or sole traders who experience a loss of income as a direct result of a major disaster. Click on the link to find out more about the Disaster Recovery Allowance
