Session 1: Lead and develop a retail team

Build the foundations of effective leadership and team performance.

You’ll cover:

  • Leadership styles and behaviours in retail
  • Setting clear expectations and performance standards
  • Identifying team capability and development needs
  • Coaching and supporting team growth

Attract, select and set up team members for success.

You’ll cover:

  • Identify recruitment needs
  • Best practice recruitment and selection techniques
  • Conducting effective interviews
  • Delivering structured onboarding and induction

Embed customer focus into everyday team behaviours.

You’ll cover:

  • What great customer experience looks like in retail
  • Leading by example and influencing team behaviours
  • Monitoring service standards and responding to feedback
  • Coaching teams to deliver consistently great service
Handle workplace challenges with confidence and clarity. You’ll cover:
  • The leader’s role in shaping a positive workplace culture
  • Managing performance issues early and effectively
  • Navigating difficult conversations
  • Resolving conflict and minimising workplace risk

Delivery methodology
