Myer Hobart reopens

Myer’s much anticipated and new store in Liverpool St, Hobart has opened its doors ahead of the Christmas shopping period.

The new store spans 8800sqm and five levels.

Myer Chief Merchandise and Marketing Officer and Deputy CEO, Daniel Bracken, said there was a great level of excitement for the opening of the new Myer store.

“The opening of the new Myer store marks an exciting time for our Hobart customers and our team is delighted to be opening our fantastic new store this week. We’re bringing elements of our New Myer strategy to our Hobart store to bring a whole new shopping experience to the local community,” said Mr Bracken.

“We have tailored the brands, products and experiences to match what we know our local Hobart customers want. For the first time ever, we’re bringing a range of new brands to Hobart customers including Seed, French Connection, Rodd & Gunn, Tiger Mist and the very popular Benefit Brow Bar.

“The new store will also offer the latest omni-channel technology with the launch of ‘The Myer Hub’ which provides a range of in-store services in one convenient location including personal stylists, Click & Collect, Shop and Drop, gift registry, free Wi-Fi, and a smart phone recharge station,” he
said.

Myer Hobart Store Manager, Peter Monachetti, said the opening of the new Myer store in Hobart was a highlight of his 36 year career with Myer.

“Approximately 300 Myer staff and brand partners have worked over 8000 man hours, around the clock to ensure the store is sparkling for our customers on Thursday,” Mr Monachetti said.

“We have around 230 extremely passionate, hard working and committed store team members who are thrilled to open the doors of the new Myer Hobart for the first time. We have recruited and trained 90 new, local employees, including 48 Christmas casuals, who will work across our five new floors and the magical Christmas Giftorium,” he said.

Key womenswear brands include Country Road, David Lawrence, Esprit, JAG, Piper, Sportscraft, Cooper Street and swimwear by Seafolly. Teenage girls will be catered to with brands including Miss Shop, Milk & Honey, Tokito, Lipsy, Bardot, and an exciting new brand to Myer Hobart, Tiger Mist.

Men’s fashion brands on offer are Ben Sherman, Blaq, Country Road, Gazman, Blazer, JAG, Mossimo, M-One-11, Sportscraft and Trent Nathan, while homewares and electrical will Apple, Bose, Vue, KitchenAid.
