ARA Statement in response to the RTBU industrial dispute

The Australian Retailers Association (ARA) is calling for swift resolution to the NSW government and the Rail, Tram and Bus Union industrial disputes. 

Further disruptions to train transport would be catastrophic to Sydney retailers who have faced ongoing challenges throughout 2024 and are currently in the midst of the crucial peak festive trading period. 

Train delays also impact retail workers, many of whom are relying on extra shifts during the coming weeks.

It’s essential that retailers are given every opportunity to head into the new year confident they will not face more transport delays caused by industrial action, which significantly impact retail foot traffic.
