E-commerce sales will rise this Christmas compared to previous years, and so far this November, Australia Post have delivered over 5.5 million more parcels compared to the same month last year.
ARA member Australia Post are working hard to deliver letters and parcels to consumers as quickly as possible, but due to COVID-19 and the rise of packages the Christmas deliveries will take longer.
Along with providing a seamless online shopping experience for customers, it’s important to remind them of postage cut off dates for both standard and express shipping. Keep your customers informed by displaying these dates on your website, social media announcements and eDMs. These dates will come around very quickly and reminders front and centre will be helpful to keep shoppers on track.
Here are the cut off dates as advised by Australia Post:
Sending within Australia
Send Parcel Post by Saturday 12 December 2020.
Send Express Post by Saturday 19 December 2020.

Recommended final sending dates for major destinations (Standard Post):
- USA, Canada, UK, Europe: Monday 16 November 2020
- Most of Asia: Monday 23 November 2020
- New Zealand: Friday 27 November 2020.
